Teen Gym is a program for 12-15 year olds, aimed at teaching participants how to correctly use equipment in gyms.
This program is fully supervised by a qualified personal trainer, and seeks to build confidence for youths in a gym environment.
As there is a general industry standard that people under the age of 15 cannot use weight training gyms,Teen Gym endevours to help participants learn about their bodies and muscle growth in a safe environment, so when they can start using facilities unsupervised, they are comfortable and confident.

The program covers:

  • Correct technique while using pin loaded equipment, cardio equipment, and free weights.
  • Program basics - How to set out a workoutto achieve personal goals.
  • Gym-etiquette - How to behave while using a gym.


4pm Tuesdays and Thursdays

Teen Gym does not run during School Holidays



Annual  HPCYC Membership:

Student 15+ $40.00

Junior U/15 $30.00

Session fees:

$5.00 for HPCYC Members, $8.00 for Casual visitors


PLEASE NOTE that students must have parent or guardian permission prior to participating in this class.

This can be done through membership enrolment or through casual visit registration; these forms or can be picked up from Hobart PCYC reception, or can be emailed upon request.
